The first year with newborn twin babies is so hard. Many twin parents have told us that it gets so much better. Now, just 13 months into the journey of having twin boys, I am starting to believe these words other twin parents have shared with us. One of the things that made the first year doable was all the help we received. One of the people that invested her time to helping me while my husband worked was Ravin Ricker.

The first day Ravin arrived to help me, barely knowing her at all, she walked into a distraught new momma who has just spilled all the breast milk I just spent so much time pumping. Ravin was so compassionate toward me. She expressed she knew how difficult this circumstance and season can be. She was so mindful that I needed a lot of rest and allowed me to nap while she confidently cared for my two small infants. Barely knowing Ravin, there was something about her that I trusted to go to bed with a near stranger in my home caring for two of the people I love most. I got some much needed sleep and woke up to calm, cared for, happy babies and a calm, confidant, and smiling Ravin.

As Ravin continued to help over the next several months I found myself looking forward to her time with me and my boys. She brought calm with her and I knew when she was here she would care for not just my boys but me as well. I often learned new things about babies, being a new momma, or breastfeeding during discussions with Ravin that were so helpful to me. She also presented information in a way that was conversational and confidence building for me. It was easy to talk to Ravin about what I was experiencing as I found her to be approachable. I did not ever feel dumb or like I was failing as a mom when presented with new information she gave me as I learned to care for my boys better.

Lastly, the babies. Ravin was so gentle, warm, and loving toward my babies. It was it clear to me that Ravin loves caring for these tiny humans and passionate about talking/teaching about motherhood and caring for infants. My boys were safe, their body language listened and responded to, and swaddled like a pro when spending time with Ravin.

I definitely recommend Ravin to your family as you are considering another person to help care for your babies. She helped me often twice a week from September-November 2024. Nothing beats knowing your babies are safe, cared for, and cared about when you need either a helping set of hands or leave them in someone else’s care. Ravin has been wonderful for both of these things for me and would care for your babies just as tenderly.
